Arsene Wenger has concerns over the injury that Aaron Ramsey picked up in Arsenals 4-0 win over Hull. The FA Cup match left more than just one of Wenger’s men in a state of disrepair.
Aaron Ramsey is supposed to be playing for Wales at Euro 2016 this summer. His injury is fairly serious according to manager, Arsene Wenger. If his injury is long term there could be concerns over his position at Wales.
The Hull fixture was also troublesome for centre-backs Per Mertesacker and Gabriel who also suffered injuries. In addition Laurent Koscielny is also un-fit to play for Arsenal at this time.
Arsene Wenger insists that Ramsey’s injury is the most serious of the three sustained in the Hull fixture:
“The most serious looks to be Ramsey, I think it’s a thigh strain.”
Mertesacker sustained his injury when he bashed heads with Hull’s midfielder Nick Powell. The manager went on to talk about Mertesacker and the injuries he and Gabriel sustained:
“Mertesacker is just a cut on his eye, that looks to be very short term. Gabriel is a hamstring.”
Arsenals first win from the last six games played was secured by two goals from Wenger’s striker Olivier Giroud. A further two were scored by Theo Walcott.
The win was a welcome one for Arsenal fans who have, just recently, been losing faith in the manager that has served them well for many years. Some fans could be seen holding banners in the crowds calling for a resignation from the Frenchman.
Referring to his position at Arsenal, Wenger pointed out that he isn’t worried about his role as manager:
“There’s nothing disappointing for me, I do my job. Look at the history of the club and you will see that I have nothing to be scared of.”
