Breaking news released this morning, within the world of football, is that Sergio Ramos has signed for Real Madrid for an additional five years. The news comes following speculation that the star would be breaking free from his time in the Spanish sunshine.
The breaking news ends much speculation over whether or not the captain of Real Madrid will make the move to Manchester United following the reds twenty eight point six million offer for the star. United are now unlikely to sign a new defender before the transfer window closes.
Ramos is set to sign a new five year contract on Monday afternoon in public. Fans will be delighted at the decision and will anticipate the official signing in a ceremony at the Bernabeu.
Spainish club Real Madrid has confirmed the news in a statement released today specifying that, that rather than breaking free, the star would indeed be tied to the club for the next five seasons.
Sergio Ramos is the longest serving player at Real Madrid and was acquired by the Spanish team officials back in 2005. The twenty nine year old was signed from Sevilla and has since been making waves in both the national team and of course at Real Madrid.
Real Manager, Rafael Benitez, made Ramos captain of Real Madrid back in July and is happy to have his star player on board at least until 2020. Ramos has, so far, had a phenominal career with many accredited titles to his name. Some of these include achievements on a national level, he has one hundred and twenty eight caps for Spain, winning two European Championships and the 2010 World Cup.
