Carlo Ancelotti named Real Madrid boss

Former Chelsea man, Carlo Ancelotti, has left Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in order to take over as the new boss with the Spanish giants, Real Madrid. The previous Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho, left the 2012 La Liga Champions in order to return to his old club, Chelsea FC, to the place where he knows he is ‘loved’. Carlo Ancelotti conquered the top French league with PSG leading them to their first ever Ligue 1 title, and now he will look to challenge the Spanish bosses, Barcelona, for the La Liga title.

Carlo Ancelotti first signed for PSG in December of 2011, but after being approached by Real Madrid, he asked to leave in May. An offer to go and manage what is considered to be one of the best football teams in the world is difficult to turn down and Ancelotti swiftly made his decision wanting to manage the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo. However, it looked as though PSG wouldn’t let the Italian go to Real Madrid until they were certain they could find a suitable replacement for the man.

Carlo Ancelotti gets replaced by Laurent Blanc

PSG finally released Carlo Ancelotti after they were certain that they had sealed the deal to sign Laurent Blanc, who has agreed a two year deal with the French Champions. Blanc will take charge of PSG when July begins, just before the pre-season kicks-off. Laurent Blanc was very successful as a player, playing for the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona, but his career highlight was probably when he won the 1998 World Cup with France and followed that up with the 2000 Euro’s trophy.

Real Madrid will be over the moon with the singing of Carlo Ancelotti as he is considered as a top manager, winning the Champions League in 2003 and 2007 with A.C Milan. Ancelotti has claimed titles in England, France and Italy and now he is on his way to conquer Spain with the team that plays in the legendary all white kit. Ancelotti has signed a three-year contract with Real Madrid after leaving PSG on high after winning them their first Ligue 1 title.

Real Madrid released on their website this statement, “Carlo Ancelotti will coach Real Madrid next season. The Italian has experienced success in every country where he has managed and arrives in the Spanish capital after being named coach of the season in France.” Whilst PSG confirmed their new signing of Blanc, “Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the appointment of Laurent Blanc as coach for the next two years. He will take charge of the squad on 1 July 2013 for the start of pre-season training.”
