Chelsea forward, Loic Remy, defends Chelsea boss Mourinho as the fans and press start to look for who is to blame for the extremely poor performance from Chelsea so far this season. Many fans are in a state of shock as the Blues don’t seem to be able to shake off their losing streak.
Chelsea won’t give up according to Loic Remy who knows that this season isn’t going well for the former champions. In an effort to defend his manager and make it known that the bad run isn’t his fault he has spoken out. He has also said that it is important that Mourinho continues his work with the team:
“It’s important for him to stay and we don’t want to give up. We were champions together only last season and he is a really great manager. Of course I don’t want him to leave. I think all the players don’t want that. The spirit is good and we are not affected by the situation. We will just keep training well. I’m sure the opportunity to win games will be here sooner rather than later, but obviously it is better for us if it is sooner.”
He went on to speak of what the team needed to do now to ensure that they climb up the ladder to the top end of the league table:
“I’m really sure that Saturday will be a big game, but we can still be in the top four of the league if we win games. It does look and feel like, after losing on penalties, that things aren’t going our way. But when you know the quality of the group and the fact we were were champions last season, which was not by chance, the quality is still here.”
Hopefully Chelsea can home in on some of the ‘spirit’, Remy claims is still plentiful among them. Maybe they can put that ‘spirit’ to good use on the pitch!
