England defeat Argentina in second Test

England dominated Argentina in the Rugby Union second Test with a score of 51-26. England’s Marland Yarde played his first game for England and he looks to be an extremely promising player as he contributed with two tries towards the 51 points England managed to score. Joining Yarde on the score-sheet was Freddie Burns (2 tries), Rob Webber (2 tries) and Kyle Eastmond who managed to score one try. Conversions were scored by both Freddie Burns, who got 4, and Stephen Myler who got one. 2 Penalties were scored by Freddie Burns who was certainly on form this game.

England didn’t get off to the best start as they trailed to the hosts 12-6, but after two penalty tries along with a couple of conversions from Burns, they took a storming lead with the score at 26-12. This was the score the two teams went into the break at and England came out into the second looking the better team. Yarde, Webber and Eastmond all showed their worth scoring tries for England whilst Argentina only managed 2 tries from Manuel Montero and Tomas Leonardi throughout the whole match.

England win first away series against Pumas for 32 years

England won the first test 32-3 and this second test triumph just wraps up the victory in the series with complete ease. For this second test, England was without Billy Twelvetrees and Christian Wade, who were called up to the British and Irish Lions squad due to too many Lion injuries. However, their presence was not missed too much as England were still fully capable of steamrolling over their opponents to win the series comfortably.

England coach, Stuart Lancaster, commented, “The players have been outstanding to work with. They are very talented and from an England rugby point of view we have a strong few years to come. We have a generation of players coming through who should be here way beyond 2015. I very much see this tour as a staging post for the World Cup. It’s a pleasing step forward and this tour was always going to be critical in our development towards 2015 because it gave the opportunity to bring other players through.”
