England drop trio for Samoa match

After yet another disappointing defeat at the weekend for the England international squad, head boss Stuart Lancaster has dropped three crucial players, Billy Vunipola, Danny Care and Kyle Eastmond for this weekend’s match. The hosts will play against Samoa on Saturday at Twickenham Stadium and Lancaster will be taking a different approach bringing in James Haskell, Richard Wigglesworth and Billy Twelvetrees. These Autumn Internationals will mainly be used for Stuart Lancaster to try and figure out which players would be best to pick for his 2015 World Cup squad next year.

England yet to win at Autumn Internationals 2014

England have already played half of the 4 Autumn Internationals tests and are yet to win a game. The first Autumn International was against New Zealand and the home side weren’t really expected to win, but they did put up a good fight, losing by only 3 points. At the weekend, England played South Africa and were hoping for a victory to boost their confidence; yet, the travellers were extremely impressive and defeated England again by 3 points. England needs a victory against Samoa on Saturday in order to go into the final Autumn Internationals match against Australia with as much confidence as possible.

This year’s series is the final Autumn Internationals before the World Cup 2015, therefore the England boss and training team are using this chance to examine the players. They will use this Autumn series and the RBS Six Nations 2015 to finalise their decision on who to choose for the Rugby World Cup 2015. England boss Stuart Lancaster commented, “We always wanted to use these four games to look at options and Billy, Richard and James have been in great form for their clubs.”

England squad v Samoa: Dave Attwood, Kieran Brookes, Dylan Hartley, James Haskell, George Kruis, Courtney Lawes, Joe Marler, Ben Morgan, Matt Mullan, Chris Robshaw (captain), Rob Webber, David Wilson, Tom Wood, Brad Barritt, Mike Brown, Owen Farrell, George Ford, Jonny May, Billy Twelvetrees, Anthony Watson, Richard Wigglesworth, Marland Yarde, Ben Youngs.
