Nico Rosberg has taken an early lead in this season’s F1 Calendar as he stands as champion of both the Australian and the Bahrain Grand Prix. Up next for the Mercedes driver is Shanghai.
German driver, Nico Rosberg, is no stranger to success on the circuit. Fellow Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton says he isn’t worried about his opponents lead. The British driver insists that he has what it takes to make an impact over the course of the season, despite the loss of both his pole positions.
Speaking of the current situation and his team mates results Hamilton made a point of stating that he is in the right frame of mind for 2016:
“This is a psychological game, but I guess with age and experience I am in the most solid place I have been psychologically.”
The former champion said that he isn’t at all concerned about recent results, nor is he bothered by his slow starts in either Australia or Bahrain. He insists that the problem with his driving will soon be fixed. He also made sure that he emphasised, there is still plenty of time as well as multiple opportunities, where he could catch up on Nico Rosberg’s 17 point lead.
There was plenty of action in Bahrain last Sunday as fans witnessed Hamilton finish seventh with a damaged car following a collision earlier on. Having the talent to secure that position despite earlier misfortunes does lead us to believe that Hamilton will be capable of catching up to the current front runner Nico Rosberg.
With twenty one races still to go, the truth is that Hamilton has every chance of making an impact as the season continues. If anything were going to happen early on in the season is preferable. Either way fans look set to witness some spectacular racing this season!
