Following all of the controversy surrounding the Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan, it has recently come to light that former Manchester United striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been named as Cardiff’s new manager. Tan decided to sack former manager Malky Mackay after they had a disagreement concerning the Transfer Window, something the fans were unhappy about, chanting Malky Mackay’s name even after he had been sacked. However, things are looking more positive for the Bluebirds as Solskjaer arrived at the Cardiff City Stadium today and was officially named as their new manager.
As we are now into January, the Transfer Window has reopened, this is the perfect time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take over Cardiff City and begin getting his own players in. The former Norwegian international footballer was seen with Vincent Tan at the Emirates to watch his team play against Arsenal before he took charge, so at least he has a small idea of what he is going to work with. Now that he has seen his team perform, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know who he wants to buy in the Transfer Window with the £25 million transfer budget.
During his first press conference as the Cardiff City manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer commented, “It is a fantastic challenge. Cardiff are ready to take the next step up. I hope I can help them. I’ve always dreamt of being a manager in the Premier League and I’m delighted to get the opportunity. I have always wanted to come back to the Premier League. I am really looking forward to convincing the Cardiff fans that I am the right man to take them forward. I will try to convince the fans with my hard work, loyalty and my brand of football.”
