Pre-Season and the worlds media is awash with stories of transfer deals, pre-season friendlies and football star debuts. This time of year is always eagerly anticipated by football fans as the transfer windows are open and all kinds of possibilities arrive.

Pre-season a change up with massive expenditure

There are countless clips of possible transfers and gossip column’s full of possible outcomes. Pre-season is always full of speculation and anticipation of what is to come.  Just a snippet of the latest news, cites that Manchester City are on the brink of breaking Britain’s transfer record.

The Blues are said to have set aside a whopping sixty million in order to net, former Chelsea midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne. It has been suggested that they have the intention of opening the bid with forty million. If that bid climbs to the sixty million mark, however, the sum will surpass the current record of 59.7 million. Manchester City are setting themselves up to blow the bank this season, they have already shelled out a cool forty nine million for Raheem Stirling.

Manchester United payed the current record sum in last year’s transfer window for Angel Di Maria. Despite the fact that he has only played with the reds for one season Angel Di Maria does not expect to be wearing the red shirt this year. It has been said that he could be moving to play for PSG.

In other Pre-season news Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has commented on his shock at how fragile his team are. Chelsea played New York Red Bulls soccer team, Chelsea lost the pre-season friendly with a score of 4-2. Having conceded four goals Mourinho stated that he was glad the American side had given his team such a hard game. He referred to the match as a training session and was able to witness the team’s current status in play. It will be interesting to see what his plans are to pull the team together and step it up a gear.

Elsewhere Liverpool’s new recruit James Milner has been in the papers boasting of his superb form, after having made what he considers the right move. Milner has made a great impression on his team mates and has stated that he already feels like he has been at the club for ages. Milner has also spoken out about the fact that he is very much looking forward to the start of the season.

James Milner will not be alone in his excitement, fans, players and clubs everywhere will be warming up for a season that promises to deliver some superb football.
