Richest Sportsmen 2014 – Top 30

Have you ever wondered how much the sportsmen of today’s world earn and who earns the most in the United Kingdom? Well here we reveal the top 30 Richest Sportsmen 2014. As many people would be able to easily guess, there are unsurprisingly a lot of footballers in the list. Let’s start from the bottom of the list where we have footballer Robin van Persie, who has earned a joint £17million alongside Golfer Darren Clarke who are both joint 29th. Joint 27th is a very well-known pair of footballers as Robbie Keane and Damien Duff have earned £18million each.

From 27th to 20th position, the Richest Sportsmen 2014 list is full of footballers and only one golfer. The Golfer, Justin Rose is joint 24th on the list with David Silva and Sergio Agüero whilst Joe Cole, Ashley Cole, Petr Čech and Yaya Toure are all next in the list. Sitting in 19th and 18th position is golfer Ian Poulter and Basketball player Ben Gordon respectively. The next three richest sportsmen of 2014 are all golfers as Rory McIlroy, Lee Westwood and Luke Donald have earned around a respectable £30million each.

Many footballers occupy the Richest Sportsmen 2014 list

The Chelsea duo come in next in joint 13th place as John Terry and Fernando Torres have an equal amount of £31million in earnings so far in their career, whilst 12th place is occupied by golfer, Colin Montgomerie. There is a mixture of Golf, Football and Basketball in joint 9th as Padraig Harrington, Ryan Giggs and Luol Deng have all earned £36million each. Next up in the list of Richest Sportsmen 2014 is two England footballing legends as Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are joint 7th after earning a total of £37million. In 6th is record breaker and current Wimbledon Champion, Andy Murray, who has earned an impressive £40million following last year’s Wimbledon victory.

Now we’re in to the top 5 Richest Sportsmen 2014. In 5th place is a Manchester United and England footballing great as Rio Ferdinand pitches in with a total of £44million earned. The next name, in 4th position, could come as a shock as Basketball player, Steve Nash has earned an impressive £56million. 3rd in the list is Red Devil forward Wayne Rooney, who recently signed a new contract of £300,000 a week and has earned £60million so far in his career.

Throughout the entire list so far, we have not seen one Motor Racing sportsman yet, but that is down to the fact that the 2 Richest Sportsmen 2014 are both in Formula 1. Second in the list is McLaren driver Jenson Button, who has earned a whopping £63million. As you may have guessed by now, officially the richest sportsman in 2014 is former teammate of Button and current Mercedes driver, Lewis Hamilton. The 29 year old has earned a massive £68million in his career until now and is officially the Richest Sportsman in the UK at the moment.
