Rory McIlroy, top golf star could make a return to the fairway if his recovery continues as it has done over the last few weeks. The twenty six year old sustained an injury to his left ankle on the 4th July earlier this year. He was playing football with friends when he ruptured his ligaments. Mcllroy was left with no choice but to forfeit his place in the Scottish open at St Andrews.
Rory Mcllroy has claimed that he is recovering well and has gone so far as to upload a video of his progress on a social networking site. He has also spoken out about his status, sharing with fans, that he is now able to put weight on to his injured ankle.
The talented professional will be aiming to make a return in time for the US PGA Championship but has denied reports that he has scheduled a practice round at Whistling straits. He is yet to confirm whether or not he will be fit to play, but has stated that he wishes to be one hundred percent fit if he is to return.
Speaking out about his intentions during his recover Rory Mcllroy announced:
“Although rehab is progressing well, I want to come back to tournament play when I feel 100% healthy and 100% competitive,”
Rory Mcllroy will be replaced as top seed by Jordan Spieth. Masters and US Open Champion Jordan Spieth is bound to be excited by the prospect of not having to fight Mcllroy for the title. The twenty two year old phenomenon has gone on to wow fans in golfing circles with his unbelievable talents on the fairway.
Golfing fans will be waiting with bated breath ahead of the tournament wondering if Rory Mcllroy will be fit to tee off in Wisconsin.
