The rivalry between Mercedes team-mates Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg is set to get even more heated this weekend as they prepare for one of the toughest races of the season, the Singapore Grand Prix. This year’s Formula 1 season has been enthralling and exciting from the very first race, Mercedes has dominated so far, which is a massive difference from the previous 3 seasons. In recent years, Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull have dominated Formula 1 winning the title for 3 consecutive seasons, yet Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo still believes he could win the title this season.
The Australian Red Bull driver, Daniel Ricciardo believes that he can still make a comeback and fight for the Drivers’ Championship title, despite him being 72 points behind the current leader, Nico Rosberg. However, if Ricciardo doesn’t manage to at least get on the podium at the Singapore Grand Prix, his chances of a comeback are extremely slim. Rosberg has been looking edgy in recent races ever since Mercedes disciplined the German driver for colliding with his team-mate at the Belgian Grand Prix, forcing Hamilton to retire from the race.
In the most recent Italian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton dominated the race by recovering from a bad start and forcing his team-mate Rosberg to make two mistakes, one of which gave Hamilton the lead. This victory for the Englishman has meant that Hamilton is now only 22 points behind his German opponent in the leader board with a maximum of 175 points on offer from the remaining 6 races. Rosberg’s current lead is mainly down to his car being more reliable as he has only had to retire from one race, whilst Hamilton had to retire from 3 races. So who will win the Singapore Grand Prix?
