Trevor Bayliss, England’s coach, has got to be credited with the amazing performance delivered by England at Trent Bridge on day one of the fourth test in this Ashes series.
Trevor Bayliss was appointed as England’s Cricket coach a little over three months ago. The former Australian coach and player was given the position with the blessing of Andrew Strauss, current director of Cricket for the ECB.
Bayliss must be doing something right, Trent Bridge was witness to some absolutely phenomenal cricket from England yesterday. The bowling and fielding was nothing less than awesome, and England showed the crowds a real example of team work with catch after catch off of some superb bowling from Stuart Broad.
Currently in their first innings of the forth test England have wiped the floor with Australia’s extremely low run rate. Having won the toss yesterday, Trevor Bayliss’s men, went out to bowl and field first only take out all of Australia’s men for a measly sixty runs. Now having had a decent innings with the bat Australia are chasing well over two hundred runs.
Social networking sites have been going crazy with tributes to the home team and continuous updates in awe of the start for England yesterday. The match isn’t won yet but it’s looking increasingly likely that England will be taking the Ashes from Australia, as well as making history for the series.
Could the performance from England be down to Trevor Bayliss? It certainly looks likely. With the movement on the wicket, that Australia are just not used to, and an insight from the new coach, that knows the Aussies strengths and weaknesses. England has displayed nothing short of fantastic cricket this series.
